HOA Voting

Hello Dennis,

Our BOD has been holding a series of workshops to address the needs of a part of the Community that is underserved. At these meetings, ideas have been generated by the Board and then discussed with input from the Community in attendance. My question is, at the next workshop, the Board plans on voting on at least one of these ideas….can a vote be taken during a workshop?

For the board to hold an informal workshop they must comply with the open meeting laws and notice that meeting at least 48 hours prior and allow any member to come and participate. If they do that, then it is consider a formal meeting of the board and they can take action, whether they call it that or not.
