LEGISLATIVE UPDATES & IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS

Below, you will find the most current developments concerning pending HOA Legislation, impactful Homeowner News and Jill’s Action Alerts.  NOTE: If you are a member of this coalition, please take a moment to check your email and ensure you are receiving our time-sensitive updates .  If you are not receiving AZHOC emails, check your spam and mark our messages as “safe” or “non-spam” by using the instructions provided by your email service.

Be sure your legislatures are acquainted with you and know how you feel about homeowner community bills. The most effective way to be heard by legislatures is directly on the Arizona Legislature’s website platform called Request To Speak (“RTS”). We strive to provide coalition members with as much advance notice to act as possible. However, bills progress quickly as they are passed into law. Thus, Jill’s Action Alerts are often time-sensitive.

  • How to post a RTS “Position” on a bill during legislative session: A “Position” is a convenient selection of ‘yay’, ‘nay’, or ‘neutral’.
  • How to Request to Speak (RTS) for Bills scheduled on a Committee Agenda: Request to Speak is a feature that allows you to enter a written comment (250 characters) and/or register to speak in person during a scheduled Committee hearing.

To read each individual homeowner bill, please see the Current Legislation page.  Here, you can also learn AZHOC’s position and monitor the status of each bill.

We invite you to spread the word and educate others on how to use the “Request To Speak” process within the Arizona legislature. The coalition’s drafted legislation occasionally hangs in the balance with the need for a few dozen additional vocal members. If every active member of the coalition is able to ignite another one or two people to speak via RTS, our homeowner advocacy will become incrementally more impactful. Without your voices, we simply cannot compete with heavily funded lobbyists.

Our Mission: To advocate, protect, support and advance the best interests and rights of all Common Interest Community members.
