A Board member trying to influence other homeowners not to vote for a specific candidate
We have a board member who knocked on a homeowners door and told her specifically not to vote for a candidate. This same Board member collected balots from homeowners and submitted them to the management company. Is there a statute making this illegal.

What you describe is inappropriate and, unfortunately, happens in many communities across the state. My Senate Bill SB-1364 included a specific provision that would have made it illegal, but current law does not address this BS from associations.
Unfortunately, that bill has already died in the legislature for now; I’ll continue to work to get reintroduced either this session or the next.
