Records request from board

There has been a lot of turnover with our HOA board. The website has not been kept updated. I have sent a records request to my HOA board requesting the updated board member listing as well as titles and contact information. I have also requested the names of the committee members, since those have also not been updated.. these are committees listed in the CCRs as well as being listed in the HOA website. I received a partial response with the board names and titles of the board but nothing regarding the committee members. I clearly stated that I was only asking for names, not contact information for the committee members. Does the board have to provide that information to me as a member? I am asking this because I had volunteered for a committee opening but was told that someone else had volunteered for the position. It was for the audit committee and they have not completed a review of the finances since 2022, so I am concerned that this needs to be done..

Thanks, Mary

    Mary,
My gut feeling on this is that the names of committee members would not be considered a record of the association. It could be argued in either direction, but in general, most committees are advisory to the board and, as such, have limited authority on their own, with the exception of the design review committee or the Architectural Review Committee (ARC).
