HOA management companies
I have discovered that many HOA management companies are owned by one person. I feel this may be where so much is going sideways. We all have the same issue for some reason. The attitude of tyranny is so awful & causes an absolute breakdown of community, which most HOA’s seem to be against. I have almost the exact same issue as every poster on this website & am horrified this is allowed with no recourse for homeowners. They ruin lives. What else can be done? What can I do to stop this?

Catherine,
While I’m not sure of your comment about many management companies being owned by one person, that is totally irrelevant to the basis of your comment. You are absolutely right, but what people can do is stand up in their communities for what is right and what are their rights within these communities. This is why this coalition was formed, to help you understand both the existing law and your fundamental rights under common law. But beyond your individual communities if we truly want limitation on the ability of these communities and the HOA industry from abusing our rights we all must work together to contact our legislators to introduce legislation that is strategic and focused on making these communities better places to live and raise our families. That is what I try and do for all of you. If any of you want change then you must get involved and work for change. Be part of the solution and not just a witness to atrocities and victims of abuse.
You have joined this coalition, I will keep all of your informed as to what is happening at the legislator and what is needed week to week during the session to communicate to the legislators the need for meaningful and thoughtful change.
Register and activate an account of the AZLEG.gov web site. They post your positions for or against any legislation that impacts you. Also use your account to post request to speak to any committee hearing HOA related legislation. During the legislative session this is the most effective method for communicating to your legislators as e-mail are soon lost in the magnitude that each legislator receives each day. There have already been 17 different bills affecting HOA introduced, which is a record in recent history with more yet to come.
